What is an individually directed retreat?

It is a time of coming aside to be with my God to listen to what He is saying   to me in the depth of my being.

It is a time of relationship with God/Jesus in a loving, attentive presence.

Prayer is focused on the Scriptures.

Retreatants meet daily for approximately one hour with their spiritual director   who is the companion to dialogue about their prayer experience.

Silence is observed throughout the retreat.

This workshop addresses situations when individuals lose control of their own lives and do not know how to satisfy personal basic needs, unleashing thus a cycle of reactions and negative and/or self-destructive behaviours.

Choice Theory is offered as
- a new psychology of personal freedom
- a way to re-construct harmonious relationships.
- with the emphasis on personal change.

As an application of Choice Theory, Reality Therapy will demonstrate the counselling approach and questioning techniques to help clients self-evaluate, and discover the sources of motivation within themselves.
Participants will have the chance to participate in interactive exercises that simulate the self-evaluating processes used in Reality Therapy to effect personal change.

Love & Forgiveness
…'letting-go' and surrendering pride and hurt are only a part of forgiveness, a passive part. There is a much greater maturity and personal freedom required to initiate forgiveness. But, like all matters of growth, many of us are not there yet. We can't invent powers, wisdoms and strengths that we don't yet have. It takes time for these compassionate strengths to be built up inside us.
To journey into forgiveness – we explore ways of engaging in this process, humanly and spiritually – and reach a place of being enabled and strengthened by arriving at a state of compassion.

In this seminar, you will be…
• building compassionate strength within yourself
• understanding your own make-up – psychologically, socially, politically and institutionally
• understanding the elements in forgiveness and the place of Love
• understanding the rules of forgiveness in close relationships
• learning to love after hurt and pain

Who should attend?
• Counsellors
• Teachers
• Parents

Invitation to the Labyrinth

The labyrinth is an ancient Christian meditation walk. It is a symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a seemingly meandering but purposeful path. It is a symbol that creates a sacred space and place and takes us out of our ego to "That Which Is Within." The Labyrinth represents a journey to our own centre and back again out into the world. It is also, therefore, a metaphor for life's journey. Indeed, everything that happens on a labyrinth is a metaphor.

A labyrinth has only one path. The way in is the way out. There are no blind alleys. The path leads you on a circuitous path to the centre and out again. . It is a journey into stillness. With a labyrinth there is only one choice to be made - whether or not to walk a spiritual path.

Come, take the time to pause and reflect and journey with a praying community.
